Culture Shock Project - 9th Grade Geography

Objective: To understand, and hopefully appreciate, the many unique differences between cultures that exist.

Your Job: You are responsible for researching and presenting unique (what many would call strange) aspects of different cultures.

From the list below, choose 5 topics to explore. For each topic, you will try to find a different culture to represent it. You will present your research in both written and visual form.

For each topic include:

- a 5 sentence paragraph explaining the strange custom.
- a 5 sentence paragraph describing the people that practice this custom.
- a map of where these people live
- and at least one picture to visually show the cultural practice.

The List:

Gender roles
Religion
Food
Worship
Clothing
Architecture
Traveling

Dance
Art
Literature
Beliefs
Entertainment
